Manchester United 1 Liverpool 4: Xherdan Shaqiri’s stunning overhead kick seals comfortable win for Jurgen Klopp’s men in Michigan
Swiss star sealed a dominant win for Liverpool with a sublime overhead kick in their pre-season friendly
XHERDAN SHAQIRI marked his first Liverpool game with a stunning overhead kick to seal a dominant victory over Manchester United.
The Swiss winger, signed from Stoke for £13million this summer, put the gloss on a rampant display from Jurgen Klopp's men with a moment of magic.
Shaqiri smashed home in the 82nd minute to round off a thumping win in front of over 100,000 people at Michigan's 'Big House'.
He earlier set up Daniel Sturridge to score within 42 seconds of climbing off the bench.
There was one side in blue and one side in grey - and over 101,000 people in red.

The two most iconic clubs in English football history took to the field in Michigan wearing their third strips.
On this occasion Liverpool just dominated and under strength and under motivated United side.
You don’t spend £250million in a year like Klopp has and be able to deliver excuses and talk about progress.

Likewise United, who have spent plenty too under Jose Mourinho, cannot have any excuses.
Liverpool were ahead on 27 minutes when Demitri Mitchell fouled Mo Salah and Sadio Mane slotted home the penalty.
United were level four minutes later when they were awarded a free-kick 20 yards out.
Up stepped Andreas Pereira and curled a shot into the top left hand corner.
His only other goal for United was from a free kick against Ipswich in 2015.
While this was a good crowd others have been poor on this tour as people cotton on to the fact that these games just aren’t important to the clubs involved.
Both managers rung the changes in the second half and Sturridge came on to continue his Liverpool revival.
The English striker recently compared his Liverpool return to getting a second chance with a girlfriend.
And he scored in an instant after new signing Shaqiri held off and Eric Bailly before teeing up Sturridge to slot into the bottom corner.
It was his first goal for the club since November 2017.
Little wonder United boss Mourinho is looking for a new centre back.
Bailly was equally weak for AC Milan’s goal in their last game.
Liverpool made it 3-1 in the 73rd minute from another penalty.
This time it was Ander Herrera who barged Andy Robertson to concede the kick and substitute Sheyo Ojo stepped up to send Joel Pereira the wrong way.
And the highlight of the friendly came on 82 minutes when Shaqiri pulled an overhead kick out of the top drawer to give Klopp's men the bragging rights over their close rivals.
