Chelsea eyeing up England keepers Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland… should Thibaut Courtois join Real Madrid
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is willing to keep the Belgian for the last year of his contract unless he gets a stunning offer
CHELSEA will look at BOTH of England’s top keepers if Thibaut Courtois leaves in the transfer window.
Stamford Bridge chiefs are checking out Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland in case Real Madrid get serious about snapping up contract rebel Courtois.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is willing to keep the Belgian for the last year of his contract unless he gets a stunning offer.
But his staff are already digging into the chances of landing Pickford, 24, from Everton or the cheaper Butland at relegated Stoke.
Pickford’s stock has never been higher after his World Cup heroics and he would cost around £60million - expensive for a keeper, but a certain solution.
Although he moved to Goodison Park only a year ago, he may be tempted by an even bigger club.
Butland, 25, may move for closer to £20m and Chelsea are keeping their interest in him warm.
The club would like a home-grown keeper to work with for years to come, with Courtois looking likely to leave either soon or next summer.
He has yet to agree new terms despite now entering the final year of his deal.
Now Real Madrid are tipped to have made a bid of around £35m to land Courtois this summer, having missed out on Alisson.
