Liverpool transfer news: Five potential replacements for Jurgen Klopp to consider with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out for the season
Reds were rocked by the news that the attacking midfielder could be ruled out for the season following knee surgery
LIVERPOOL were rocked with the news that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is braced to miss the ENTIRE of next season.
The England star required surgery after damaging multiple ligaments in his knee during the Champions League semi-final against Roma in April.
It has left boss Jurgen Klopp with no choice but to delve into the transfer market to land a replacement.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was integral to Liverpool's success last season, making 32 Premier League appearances and seven in the Champions League.
And they will need someone of his attributes if they are to challenge Man City to the title next season.
Here are five potential replacements for Klopp to consider as his replacement.
Nabil Fekir
The Lyon ace still remains at the top of Klopp's transfer shortlist despite claims that a deal is dead in the water.
Liverpool know the Ligue 1 side are willing to cash in should they receive a suitable offer for the club captain.
Fekir, 24, scored 18 league goals last season and can play through the middle or out on the right side of midfield.
Kai Havertz
Known as Bayer Leverkusen's golden boy, the 19-year-old became the youngest ever player to make 50 Bundesliga appearances last season.
He has scored 22 goals in 52 games and managed eight assists last season.
Havertz can play anywhere behind the striker and is renowned for his technical ability on the ball.
He would come at a cost with a contract at the German club until the summer of 2022.
Moise Kean
Juventus are willing to let the talented 18-year-old leave this summer after failing to offer him regular first-team football.
Kean can play in attack or on the wing and has blistering pace to trouble defenders.
He spent last season on loan at Verona and would be a cheaper option for Klopp.
His agent is also Mino Raiola and the pair are keen to secure a transfer sooner rather than later.
Max Meyer
Liverpool may need to rival Arsenal for the signature of the attacking midfielder.
The 22-year-old is a free agent after refusing to extend his current contract at Schalke in the summer.
Meyer may need to drop his wage demands but would prove a no-brainer with no transfer fee involved.
Patrick Roberts
The Manchester City star was close to joining Leicester as Riyad Mahrez's replacement this summer.
But the £10million deal has stalled, leaving Liverpool with the perfect opportunity to swoop.
His football has continued to develop under boss Brendan Rodgers during his 18-month loan stint at Celtic.
