Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe breaks world record after clearing a game of hungry hippos in 17.36 seconds
Youngster and his team-mates spent the morning breaking a number of records but it was only Tuanzebe who could stand proudly alongside his certificate
MANCHESTER UNITED'S Axel Tuanzebe is an official Guinness World Record holder... following a game of hungry hippos.
The young defender managed to put himself in the history books for the fastest time to clear the game in 17.36 seconds.
Tuanzebe and his United team-mates had been spending time on their pre-season tour of Los Angeles attempting to break a number of world records this morning.
And the 20-year-old stood proudly alongside an official certificate of his achievements before celebrating with staff members who loudly chanted his name.
Youth player Ro-Shaun Williams took to Instagram to show Tuanzebe along with a Guinness World Record official with the caption: "Congrats to the boy @axeltuanzebe_38 beating me at hungry hippos and getting the world record, you are the best."
Adjudicator Adam Brown said: "We have had a great day adjudicating a range of record attempts with the Manchester United Football team as part of their collaboration with Guinness World Records.
"Axel Tuanzebe, was the bigger winner of the day and bagged himself the record for Fastest time to clear a game of hungry hippos in a time of 17.36 seconds, beating competition from his fellow team mates."
An attempt to break the record was previously taken on by League of their Own cast Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp, James Corden and Jack Whitehall but each failed miserably.
To make his day even better, Tuanzebe then got to meet famous actor and self-proclaimed United fan Gary Oldman.
With a once-in-a-lifetime achievement under his belt, Tuanzebe's next challenge will be to impress boss Jose Mourinho.
