LIVERPOOL have made a £62million bid for Brazil No1 Alisson... but Roma are holding out for £67m.
Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the Serie A stopper all summer as he looks to finally replace hapless duo Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.
The Reds have faced stern competition from Chelsea - who themselves are worried about losing star man Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid this window.
However, Liverpool appear to be leading the race after bidding £62m today to bring him to Anfield... with no further offers from the Blues as yet.
Reports in Italy are saying Roma are willing to sell, but only if the Reds bump up their offer by a further £5m.
Last week, Liverpool bid £58m for Alisson, 25, according to reports - but upped their valuation after being turned away.
With Roma now seemingly willing to make a deal, it's over to the Anfield bosses to see if they're willing to once again throw an extra few million at the deal.
With Karius making another hatful of clangers in pre-season already, Klopp will almost certainly do whatever it takes to seal the deal.
Alisson is currently Brazil's No1, starting every game at the World Cup - ahead of Manchester City's Premier League-winner Ederson.
But both the Reds will need to be wary of money-bags Real Madrid, who could turn their attention to Alisson should they not be able to land Courtois.
