Chelsea star Eden Hazard says it is his dream – and everyone else’s – to play for Real Madrid
Zinedine Zidane is the playmaker's hero but his Bernabeu exit has not put him off a La Liga switch
CHELSEA star Eden Hazard says it is his dream – and everyone else’s – to play for Real Madrid.
The Belgium captain is gearing up for a World Cup semi-final against France tonight but was still asked about his club future.
BeIN SPORTS asked the Stamford Bridge playmaker if his hero Zinedine Zidane leaving the manager’s job at the Bernabeu ended his chances of moving to Spain.
The 27-year-old did not duck the question, or shy away from admitting that it is his ideal destination someday.
Hazard said: “Does Real make me dream less without Zidane?
“Zidane is someone special, it's true, but I think Real is everyone's dream.
“Zidane or no Zidane, the white jersey is special but the blue jersey suits me well so it does not bother me if I stay.
“For now, it's the World Cup. As I have said at least 100 times, I am at Chelsea and for the moment nobody has made me an offer.”
Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic No 7 Real Madrid shirt has been reserved for Eden Hazard, according to reports in Spain.

However, Real will apparently only seriously go for Belgian Hazard if Neymar is unavailable.
They claim the Brazilian - whose side are out of the World Cup - is an "old obsession" of Perez.
Hazard and his national team-mates could face England in the final with victory over France.
But with talk of Ronaldo's £88million move to Juventus picking up pace, it seems Real are preparing for life without him.
