Real Madrid set to beat Manchester United to the signing of £120million-rated Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Barcelona have also been on the prowl for the Serbia playmaker but Los Blancos lead the race after his agent Mateja Kezman enjoyed a meeting with president Florentino Perez
REAL MADRID are set to trump Manchester United to the signature of Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in Italy.
Both United and Barcelona have been in the hunt for the Serbian playmaker in recent months.
However, Corriere dello Sport claim Milinkovic-Savic's agent - ex-Chelsea forward Mateja Kezman - enjoyed a meeting with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez this week.
The Italian outlet say a deal is already in place and the midfielder WILL leave the Rome giants this summer.
Milinkovic-Savic is one of the hottest prospects in Europe - and the price-tag reflects that.
It's reported Real Madrid are willing to splash £120million to land their man - pricing the likes of United out of a deal.
The Old Trafford giants are seemingly less willing to spend big on another central midfielder - having already laid out £52m on Fred this summer.
Milinkovic-Savic was a shining star in Italy last season, finishing as the top-scoring Serie A midfielder with 12 goals.
He then played every minute of Serbia's World Cup campaign - but crashed out in the group stage, with Milinkovic-Savic saying he will rest before making a decision on his future.
The Lazio man revealed: "I need a little bit of rest now. I'll return to Rome and I would be happy if I stay at Lazio, as I'm content there and I have a contract."
