West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini interested in £8m Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari
Italian, who is also a target for Everton, impressed while on loan at Serie A side Sampdoria last season
WEST HAM are reportedly plotting a swoop for Sassuolo's Gian Marco Ferrari.
The 26-year-old centre-half has also been linked with a move to Everton.
But are claiming the Hammers could be about to launch an £8million bid to land the Italian.
Ferrari joined Sassuolo in 2016 for just over £3m.
He began his career with minnows Crociati Noceto and ventured around several lower league clubs before shining with second tier Crotone after impressing on loan from Parma.
He joined them permanently in 2015 before Sassuolo snapped him up a year later.
However, the ace has still not made a first-team appearance for the Serie A outfit after they immediately loaned him back to Crotone.
Ferrari then spent last season with Sampdoria, impressing enough to spark interest from the Premier League duo.
Now new West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is the one believed to be leading the chase for the star.
The Chilean hopes to add the experienced stopper to summer additions Issa Diop and Ryan Federicks and goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski in his new-look defence.
