Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet set for showdown talks with boss Jurgen Klopp after World Cup following late-season snub
The Belgian is furious at not getting any game-time in Roberto Martinez's side's to add to his woes at the Merseyside club
SIMON MIGNOLET has revealed his planned crisis talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, after being snubbed by his country.
The Belgian No2 keeper suffered a frustrating end to the season on Merseyside as he lost his place to Loris Karius, who suffered a humiliating double blunder in the Champions League final.
And he was even cursing in Kaliningrad on Thursday night as Roberto Martinez made nine changes but did not give the 30-year-old an opportunity to put himself in the shop window.
Mignolet, whose only contact with Liverpool has been from keeper coach John Achterberg, is also determined to resolve his club future.
He said: “I am going to look at my situation when I come back from the World Cup.
“At this moment I have not been speaking to anyone at Liverpool because I have been trying to focus on Belgium.

“John Achterberg sends me a text before every game, to see how I am and if I am fit so I keep in touch with him.
Former Sunderland stopper Mignolet has always stuck around at Anfield believing he will get his place back.
He has been dropped twice by Liverpool, once under Brendan Rodgers and once under Klopp – and has always got his place back.
Now, though, he looks certain to leave.
He added: “I didn’t play in the last few months at Liverpool, so after the World Cup I will look at everything.
“I can’t say much more. I don’t know how long I will have off after the tournament. I need to speak to the manager about that.”
