Manchester United end interest in £50million Tottenham and England ace Danny Rose
Yorkshire-born left-back has admitted he is desperate to move north to be closer to his family

MANCHESTER UNITED have ended their £50million interest in Tottenham and England defender Danny Rose, according to reports.
The Three Lions full-back looked certain to quit the club last summer when he was critical of the club in a SunSport exclusive.
But another season under Mauricio Pochettino looks to have soothed any problems between the player and club.
And Jose Mourinho wasted no time in the summer window by adding a left-back to his side in the shape of Portuguese prospect Diogo Dalot.
The Old Trafford boss can now pick from his teenage compatriot, utility man Ashley Young or continue working with Luke Shaw.
And claim he has now told chief executive Ed Woodward that he is no longer interested in adding Rose to his squad.
Rose has spoken of the heartache at having to stop his dad going to the World Cup because of racism fears.
The England left-back was once subjected to monkey chants playing for the Under-21s in Serbia.
He also had wider concerns about his family’s safety had they travelled to Russia — so told dad Nigel to stay at home.
Rose said: “I’ve had to tell them I don’t want them out there.
“It’s going to affect my preparation for games if I’m worrying about them — and that’s such a sad state of affairs.
“My dad’s followed me all over in my career and he’s really upset. I could hear it in his voice.
“He said he may not get a chance again to watch me in a World Cup. That was emotional hearing that.
“It’s really sad but somehow Russia got the World Cup and we have to get on with it.”
The Russian FA were fined a paltry £22,000 when France players were racially abused in a friendly in St Petersburg in March.
When Rose was targeted in Serbia in 2012, he got a red card after the final whistle — and his one-match ban was upheld.

He said: “A £22,000 fine is disgusting. I don’t want to sound arrogant but if I had been fined £22,000, it wouldn’t make a difference.
“I have no faith in the justice system. I didn’t get any support after Serbia.
“I never had a conversation with anybody outside of England.
“We had a team meeting last week and asked, ‘What if racism happens in Russia? What would we do?’
“We said we have to back each other. If it happened to me at club level, I would walk off the pitch.
“But doing that on the world stage, where it could cost us three points . . .
“I’m numb to it now. Nothing’s going to change.”
Asked about Rose’s family ban, Lions boss Gareth Southgate said: “I sympathise 100 per cent. He’s had experience of that.
“What’s clear is he felt let down by authorities.”
