Cardiff City confirm signing of Norwich star Josh Murphy for £11m as Neil Warnock insists he has secured his ‘number one target’
The 23-year-old winger made 108 appearances and scored 20 goals for the Canaries
CARDIFF CITY have completed the £11million signing of Josh Murphy from Norwich.
The 23-year-old winger, who came through the Canaries academy alongside twin Jacob, has signed a four-year contract with the Bluebirds.
Murphy becomes the first signing for Cardiff boss Neil Warnock since he clinched promotion to the Premier League last month.
Speaking to the , Warnock revealed his delight at securing his No1 target.
He said: “Josh is a player I’ve watched for a number of years now and he’s always excited me when he runs with the ball.
“I think he’s at the right age now with his best still to come.
“He can play an instrumental part in helping us to stay in the Premier League and I know he’s looking forward to the challenge.
“He’s been my number one target since the end of last season.”
Murphy, an England Under-20s international, made his debut for Norwich back in the 2013/14 campaign.
He played 108 times in total for the Carrow Road side and scored 20 goals.
