LYON have announced Nabil Fekir will NOT be joining Liverpool after talks broke down over a £57m deal tonight.
The French star was on the brink of moving to the Champions League finalists, after a fee was agreed with the Ligue 1 club.
But the 24-year-old looks set to stay after Lyon released a statement claiming negotiations had collapsed.
It read: "Transfer negotiations with Liverpool and Nabil Fekir have not succeeded and Olympique Lyonnais has decided to put an end to this negotiation tonight."
French football chief Noel Le Graet claimed earlier today that the 24-year-old completed his medical at Clairefontaine.
And Jurgen Klopp was hoping to push the deal through before Fekir begins his World Cup campaign with France.
But Lyon are in no rush no offload to offload the midfielder, who bagged 18 top-flight goals last season.
An article on the club website read: “Although Liverpool have been the priority of a possible transfer of Nabil, and subject to other proposals consistent with the interest of Nabil and Olympique Lyonnais and from ambitious clubs.

"Olympique Lyonnais is delighted to be able to count on the presence of our captain, who is a leading player for the 2018/19 season when the club will play in the Champions League.”
The club president confirmed earlier this week that Fekir would not complete any transfer until after the World Cup.
