Out of the Frying Pjan

Manchester City’s ‘Miralem Pjanic bid rejected by Juventus’ despite Pep Guardiola offering £50million for ace

Bosnian playmaker highly regarded as best midfielder in Serie A but City have fallen flat with a mega-money bid

JUVENTUS have reportedly rejected a £50million bid from Manchester City for star midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims Pep Guardiola wants the Bosnian to strengthen his squad this summer after winning last season’s Premier League title.

Pjanic is regarded as one of the best central midfielders in Serie A.

And City are now said to be chasing his signature after seeing a £44m offer for Jorginho rejected by Napoli.

However, their lucrative offer appears to have fallen flat, with Juventus reluctant to sell their key playmaker.

It’s also claimed that Real Madrid and Barcelona are keeping tabs on Pjanic’s situation in Turin.

Whether City return with a fresh offer remains to be seen, with the club keen to bring in a long-term replacement for ageing Brazilian Fernandinho.

Pjanic’s technical and creative prowess means he’s capable of playing as a defensive, central and even attacking midfielder.

But Napoli’s Jorginho could end up being the more realistic target following a change in manager at the club.
