Stoke chase Benik Afobe deal – just two days after the striker joined promoted Wolves

Nuno Espirito Santo took up the option to buy hitman for £12.5m after he fired them into the Premier League

BENIK AFOBE is wanted by Stoke – just TWO DAYS after joining Wolves.

The Premier League newcomers took up their £12.5million option to buy him from Bournemouth after last season’s loan.

But they are weighing up whether to sell for him for a profit immediately, with Gary Rowett interested in the 25-year-old.

The Stoke boss is looking for firepower to get the Potters promoted back to the Premier League and Afobe is his No1 target.

His price to join Wolves was set as part of his loan but his market value means they could make money from selling him again.

Afobe finished the season with a spell of six goals in 10 games to help get Nuno Espirito Santo’s team into the top flight.

The Portuguese used a number of loan deals during the promotion campaign, with 27-year-old Porto ace Willy Boly named in the PFA team of the year.

Nuno has activated the French centre-back's £10m purchase option and he will join Afobe at the club next season.
