Chelsea to revive interest in Jack Butland if Thibaut Courtois joins Real Madrid
Stoke are looking for a British-record fee for the goalkeeper, usurping the £30m Everton paid for Jordan Pickford
CHELSEA are reportedly set to move for England goalkeeper Jack Butland as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
The Stamford Bridge side look to set cash in on their Belgian No1 this summer after contract extension talks broke down.
He only has 12 months left on his deal and the Blues are bracing themselves for an offer from Real Madrid for the star.
And the claim that Chelsea will revive their interest in Butland should Courtois depart.
Stoke are desperate to keep hold of their talented shotstopper.
But they know they face a huge struggle following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
However, the Potters are not prepared to allow the 25-year-old to go on the cheap.
They want a British-record fee for Butland, usurping the £30m Everton forked out a year ago to sign Jordan Pickford from Sunderland.

Both keepers are battling it out to be Gareth Southgate’s first-choice for England at the World Cup.
Wolves and West ham have also both made tentative enquiries for Butland but have been put off by his asking price.
