Manchester City furious that Liverpool bus attack has resulted in no punishment so far

Reds in Uefa dock to answer ten charges as City wait to see what happens over incident before quarter-final first leg Champions League at Anfield

MANCHESTER CITY are frustrated and baffled that nobody has been punished for the attack on their team bus at Anfield last month.

Liverpool will be in the Uefa dock today to answer TEN charges against them spread over four Champions League matches.

And four of those relate to the ordeal Pep Guardiola and his City men went through as they made their way to the stadium on April 4.

The vehicle was pelted with bottles, flares and cans and the damage was so bad it was declared unfit to take the squad home at the end of their quarter-final tie.

Eight weeks since the game took place, no arrests have being made and there are no details of suspects they want to speak to.

City were angry with the way police dealt with the situation — particularly as they knew it could happen well in advance.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “No arrests have been made and our appeal is on-going.”

So City will be interested to see whether Uefa take any action when four charges against Liverpool are heard today.

“This case will be dealt with by the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 31 May.”

The likelihood is the Reds will be given a fine and a warning although Uefa could force them to play a Champions League match behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has slammed blunder keeper Loris Karius after his Champions League horror show.

Karius made two public apologies after he gifted Karim Benzema Real Madrid’s opener in Kiev and then fumbled Gareth Bale’s killer third over the line.

But Hamann, who played 263 games in seven seasons at Anfield, suggested his fellow German had reaped what he had sown.

Hamann told German newspaper Bild: “Liverpool fans forgive their stars almost everything, with one exception — if your ego does not match your performances.

“Cristiano Ronaldo can afford to behave like such a celebrity in Madrid. He has won the Champions League five times.

“But Karius has not achieved anything in his career. He is lucky that he got the chance at Liverpool.
