Liverpool flop Loris Karius offered escape route by Italian minnows Rimini after Champions League horror show
Third tier side's president wants to offer the distraught German a chance to 'find a big family and a city ready to support him'
LIVERPOOL flop Loris Karius has been offered an escape route by Italian minnows Rimini following his Champions League horror show.
The third tier side's president Giorgio Grassi wants to offer the distraught German a chance to "find a big family and a city ready to support him".
Karius made two atrocious blunders to hand Real Madrid the Champions League trophy on Saturday and may well have played his last-ever game for Liverpool.
First he threw the ball against Karim Benzema with the ball trickling over the line to give Real the lead, before letting a Gareth Bale shot slip through his fingers to make it 3-1.
But Rimini are hoping to take advantage of the German stopper's current situation.
In an open letter, club president Grassi wrote: "On June 22, Loris Karius will turn 25-years-old.
"I would like to host the German goalkeeper for a few days in Rimini, a welcoming town that has always been frequented by his fellow countrymen and women.
"I would be happy to meet him in Rimini to remind him that it just takes courage, or perhaps good sense, to understand the best life lessons are often also the toughest, the most difficult to bear.

"We've all been through these moments, unfortunately for him, his moment was in front of millions of people.
"At the end of the day, the only real failure is allowing defeat to get the better of us."

But the Rimini chief revealed it would be no cakewalk for Karius at the Lega Pro side.
Grassi added: "Let it be clear, this wouldn't be a walk in the park, because he'd be in competition with a great goalkeeper like Francesco 'Ciccio' Scotti.
"But he'd certainly find a big family and a city ready to support him as he got back to being a No1 in the Lega Pro."
