Leicester and West Ham eye cut-price £2.5m deal for Ahmed Hegazi after West Brom’s relegation
Both clubs think they have spotted a bargain given Egyptian international defender's low release clause
LEICESTER CITY and West Ham are keen on West Bromwich defender Ahmed Hegazi.
Egyptian international Hegazi, 27, moved to the Hawthorns last summer on loan from Al Ahly.
He joined full-time in January and played in all 38 of the Baggies' Premier League fixtures last season.
In fact, the only game he missed was the 2-1 home loss to Manchester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
He scored the winning goal on his debut in the opening day victory over Bournemouth and then the opener - which eventually meant little - in the 2-3 reverse at home to Southampton.
But now West Bromwich have been relegated there is a release clause in Hegazi's contract that allows him to leave for just £2.5million.

Hegazi did suffer some shaky moments but performed much better under fellow former centre-half Darren Moore when he took over from Alan Pardew.
Leicester boss Claude Puel can obviously spot a bargain when he sees one - and the same goes for the hierarchy at managerless West Ham.

Gegazi is thought to prefer an immediate return to the Premier League and not be part of Darren Moore's revolution in the Championship.
