Ipswich Town hold talks with Simon Grayson over vacant manager’s job
Mick McCarthy left Portman Road in April after six years in charge of the Championship club
IPSWICH TOWN have reportedly contacted Simon Grayson about becoming their new manager.
The Tractor Boys are looking for a new boss after Mick McCarthy’s six-year reign came to an end last month.
The claims Portman Road chiefs have already spoken with Grayson regarding the vacant position.
And the report states that there has been an expression of interest from both sides.
Grayson, 48, is out of work following his decision to reject an extension of his deal at Bradford last week following a short stint in charge, admitting it “didn’t feel right” to do so.
He began the season at Sunderland following their relegation from the Premier League, but was axed in October.
A number of other clubs are believed to have been in touch with him also, as the ex-Leeds United and Preston man waits for the right opportunity to return to the dug-out.
But the vacancy at the Championship club is believed to be one that appeals.

Ipswich owner Marcus Evans said he expects to appoint a new boss “at the end of May or beginning of June.”
The chief has contacted several individuals as he looks to find a successor to McCarthy.
