Spurs finished 23 points off champions Man City after challenging in previous years and Poch feels club must make next step

MAURICIO POCHETTINO threw his Spurs future into doubt by urging Daniel Levy to tell fans the truth over the club’s spending plans.
Poch, who meets chairman Levy for showdown talks this week, claims Tottenham must “take risks and be brave” to challenge for major honours.
He said: “Today, 100 per cent I will be here but tomorrow it can change. Maybe I am talking too much and need to breathe.
“It is not in my hands, it is not my decision to be here or not. I depend on my boss.
“It is healthy for myself and for the club that I can lose my job. I think Daniel Levy will listen.
“Sometimes I have crazy ideas in this type of situation. We need to take risks. We need to be brave.
“We need to challenge big sides who invest. If we want to win the big trophies we need to review things.”
Spurs clinched third place with a crazy 5-4 win over Leicester.
But in a remarkable post-match press conference Poch added: “What we achieved is fantastic so far but we need to create different ideas.
“I don’t know if the club will agree with me.
“We need to feel that we are a special club. We need to create that — but we need to be on the same page.
“I know what we need to do but it is whether the chairman agrees with me.
“It is so important to show we are ambitious, and our fans need to know what we are trying to do.
“We need to tell the truth and we need to create an expectation of what we can achieve.”
Argie Poch will meet Levy this week as they try to agree on a strategy to overhaul champions Manchester City and runners-up Manchester United while moving into — and paying for — their new £800million stadium.
The Spurs chief, who took charge in 2014, added: “We will talk next week, to create the new project.
“After four years we need to assess that period and decide the way we operate.
“The Premier League will be tougher next year. The ambitions is always about winning but it us not easy to find way to win.
“To try to improve is up to Daniel Levy.”
