Arsene Wenger arrives at hotel for his last Arsenal game looking calm, content and casual as he signs autographs
ARSENE WENGER was calm, content and casually dressed as he arrived at a Yorkshire hotel ahead of his final Arsenal game.
The Gunners boss will get a guard of honour from Huddersfield on Sunday as he bows out after 22 years on the final day of the Premier League season.
The Frenchman seemed more relaxed than ever as he strode off the team bus at the venue near Leeds in a grey tracksuit and sports shoes before signing autographs for fans.
Wenger will want to exit on a positive note after a run of seven straight away defeats has summed up why Arsenal will finish in an uncompetitive sixth place.
But Saturday evening was more a time for reflection on his two decades than the last few months as onlookers wanted one last glimpse of a man who has produced some of the most entertaining and successful sides in the history of British football.
The departure of Wenger, 68, will surely be further smoothed by Huddersfield already sealing their Prem survival.
Fans will give him a round of applause in the 22nd minute to mark every year of his spell in England.
And Huddersfield themselves will recognise the history of the occasion.
Manager David Wagner told the Huddersfield Examiner: "The players and the staff will give him a guard of honour and the club has a present for him as well.
"I can't imagine this can happen again, so this can only show that he has done something extraordinary."
Wenger has won three Prem titles - including the unbeates season of 2003-4 - and seven FA Cups in his 1,235 games.
