Manchester United star Ander Herrera claims ‘two or three mistakes’ cost the club in 2017-18

ANDER HERRERA has revealed he believes "two or three mistakes" cost Manchester United in 2017-18.
The Spanish midfielder, 28, claims there's no shame in coming in second to "impeccable" Manchester City.
However, Herrera does rue a few sub-par games, dropping points in very winnable match-ups.
Herrera told ESPN Brasil: "We can be unconcerned about all the work we've done.
"I think that being at the second place is also worthy because the champions were practically impeccable.
"They did not make any mistake this season but we've made two or three mistakes against teams we should have probably beaten and that did not allow us to contend for the title."
However, Phil Jones revealed United are "not proud" of their second-placed finish.
The England defender said: "We're not proud and shouting from the rooftops about it.

"But we've finished second and we go into the FA Cup final [against Chelsea] with confidence.
"[City] have done really well this season... fair play to them, they've deserved it.

"There have been a few games this season where we've dropped points when we shouldn't have.
"If you turn those into points then maybe you are ten points ahead of where you are now and challenging for more than second place."
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has called the FA Cup final a must-win after the season they've had.
The Special One revealed: "No excuses... we need to win the final. It's going to be a tough game, a big game.
"We need to beat Watford on Sunday and then hopefully win the final for a satisfactory end to the season."
