ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN has provided an injury update from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery.
The midfielder busted his knee during Liverpool's Champions League semi-final first-leg victory against Roma.
It was revealed that the 24-year-old had suffered knee ligament damage.
The devastating injury has ruled the England midfielder out of the Reds' Champions League final against Real Madrid as well as the World Cup.
Former Arsenal man Ox uploaded a photo of himself watching his team-mates in action on a laptop from a hospital in Liverpool.
He captioned it: "Watching the boys in Rome last week taking us one step closer to something very special.
"Knee surgery was a success and the hard work has already begun."
Chamberlain described how he was "absolutely devastated" to be missing the final months of Liverpool's season and the tournament in Russia.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was taken off the pitch on a stretcher after going in for a tackle during Liverpool's 5-2 Champions League win over the Serie A side.
The Merseyside club soon confirmed that the midfielder would be out for the rest of the season, and that "no specific timescale" has been placed on his return.

He later wrote on social media: "Absolutely devastated to have picked up this injury at such a crucial time in the season.
"Gutted I won't be able to play any further part now in our Champions League run for Liverpool and also the World Cup with England.
Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to Anfield from Arsenal in January, after becoming frustrated with where he was being picked to play at The Emirates.
After a shaky start, and more time spent on the Liverpool bench than on the hallowed Anfield turf, Oxlade-Chamberlain was finally showing the fans his true talents.
