Huddersfield stars in boozy celebration of Premier League survival as they abandon plane home for night out in London
David Wagner's side opted to snub flight back to Yorkshire to sink the drinks following draw at Chelsea that ensured they avoid relegation and stay in the top flight
HUDDERSFIELD players embarked on a marathon night of partying after snubbing a plane home to celebrate ensuring their Premier League survival - and were left feeling it this morning
David Wagner's side ensured they would spend another year in the top flight with their 1-1 draw at Chelsea which guaranteed they could not be relegated.
The Terriers squad asked to miss the planned plane trip to Yorkshire so they could booze their way back on the team coach - only for that trip to be barred because the driver reached his daily limit of driving hours.
So still wearing their Huddersfield club tracksuits they hit the town to toast survival, ending up in London nightclub Libertine by Chinawhite were they made the most of their night out.
And there were signs of the players being worse for wear earlier this morning when they eventually began their journey home, this time by train.
Immediately after the match, jubilant coach Wagner admitted the players had free reign for 48 hours to reward their efforts over the season.
He said: "They have 48 hours and what they say we'll do so we'll go back by coach. Beers? There will be more than one."
Pictures of the players enjoying themselves started emerging on social media overnight as they showed their delight at confounding the experts by avoiding relegation.

Huddersfield had widely been written off as relegation certainties before the season started, with their low-budget squad lacking star players.
But even though they have only managed to score 28 goals all campaign, they have been good enough to pick up points when it mattered and can no longer be caught on the final day.
