Steven Gerrard hails Liverpool’s ‘start of something special’ under ‘world class’ Jurgen Klopp after sealing spot in Champions League final

STEVEN GERRARD led the plaudits after Liverpool sealed a place in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Despite losing 4-2 on the night, Jurgen Klopp’s booked their spot in the May 26 showpiece in Kiev with a 7-6 aggregate victory over Roma.
And ex-Liverpool captain Gerrard, the last man to lift the famous trophy for the club, was quick to congratulate his former team.
Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “Incredible achievement, congratulations to Jurgen Klopp and the players - they're the ones that have taken the fans on this journey.
“They deserve all the plaudits they'll get in the coming days.
“They've set themselves up for a mouth-watering final against Real Madrid and they should go in with confidence they can go all the way now.
“That man (Klopp) and the players deserve so much praise.”
And the 37-year-old believes this could just be the start of a new dawn at Anfield under the German coach.
Gerrard added: “I know what it means to these people, I’ve lived around them, it’s a special club.
“This could be the start of something special under Klopp, he’s world class.”
