JURGEN KLOPP says he will wait patiently like a "prisoner's wife" for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to overcome his injury agony.

Injury also saw the Ox, 24, fail to play at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and Euro 2016 in France.

Reds boss Klopp said: "I have no words.

"I cannot believe this wonderful player, in such a positive situation, something like this happened. It is such a shame. It is not fair.

"That is how life is sometimes. If you get a lemon, make lemonade. That is what we must do.

"Alex is a positive person and he will be back.

"We will wait for him like a good wife when a man is in prison."

Reds could cement their place in next season's Champions League if they beat Stoke on Saturday and other results go their way.

And Klopp says that Mane could be fit to feature - despite limping into a Liverpool hospital on Thursday.

The German added: "He was with a friend in hospital. It is not that serious.

"There is a chance for tomorrow. You have to speak to the players, physios and doctors and make a decision."
