POLICE were forced to restrain Manchester United and Tottenham fans prior to the FA Cup semi-final clash.
Tensions threatened to boil over outside Wembley, with flares and smoke bombs let off by supporters before United's 2-1 victory.
Fans of both clubs had to be separated by the police, as they taunted each other in a tense stand-off.
It was the United fans who let off the red flares, as they looked to stake their claim on the ground against the club who have home advantage.

Spurs supporters have become accustomed to Wembley outings recently, as they play their home games at the Home of Football as they wait for their new ground to be completed.
