JURGEN KLOPP has hit out at West Brom for playing “Championship” football on a “dry pitch” as Liverpool’s top four plans were left in limbo.

The Reds led 2-0 in the Premier League clash at the Hawthorns and looked set to return to Anfield with all three points.

But the Baggies, despite being resigned to their relegation fate, scored twice in the final ten minutes to earn a draw.

And Klopp was less than impressed with the manner of West Brom’s comeback, which has left Liverpool scrapping with Spurs and Chelsea for a Champions League, saying: “They scored twice, it was a difficult game, especially when the pitch got drier and drier.

“We had the ball constantly and that makes it not so easy. They obviously decided not to water the pitch at half-time again and it was quite difficult.

“I was not happy with the pitch. It proves you’ve never played football, obviously. That makes a massive difference.

“If the pitch is dry you can’t pass the ball three or four yards, for all the teams in the world, if they play football. If the ball is constantly in the air then you don’t need a wet pitch.

“But that’s how it is, we have to deal with that. They can do it playing with a dry pitch next in the Championship, so that’s how it is and we have to deal with it.”

Klopp also condemned Ahmed Hegazi after the Egyptian punched Danny Ings in the stomach, adding: “We had the situation with Ingsy in the box, you need the right decisions.

“The analyst showed it to me. I don’t know why he did it. There’s no reason for that, but he did it and people are laughing at Ingsy that he has to go down. We know what we are responsibly for – with all the game we need only the right decisions.”
