Arsenal ‘to sell Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi’ this summer and eye James Maddison and Ryan Fredericks as replacements

ARSENAL are "ready" to sell Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi with two Championship stars set to replace the pair, according to reports.

The duo have been under par this season and have not developed into the world-beating players Arsene Wenger clearly hoped.

According to the , the Gunners want to replace them with Norwich's James Maddison and Fulham's Ryan Fredericks.

The 21-year-old has impressed for the Canaries this season, while Fredericks, 25, has helped Fulham's superb march up the Championship table.

Maddison has a £30million price tag, with the midfielder bagging 14 goals from midfield.

The Cottagers could be opponents for Arsenal next season if they continue their march towards promotion, but they remain off the automatic playoff spots.

Meanwhile Mustafi has been panned for his lack of aggression for the Gunners this term after they were beaten by Newcastle.

Switzerland international Xhaka has also come under fire, with Arsenal fans hoping he would become one of Europe's top midfielders.
