Manchester City want Riyad Mahrez and Fred as Pep Guardiola prepares to spend over £100m in summer transfer splurge
City are ready to continue splashing the cash after storming their way to the Premier League title this season
MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly ready to spend over £100million on transfers this summer – starting with Riyad Mahrez and Fred.
The claims Pep Guardiola is keen to build on his title-winning season by adding a number of top players to his already star-studded squad.
It’s said that Pep wants to land another winger and will return for Mahrez after missing out on him in January.
The Leicester star desperately wants to join City and could be prepared to hand in his third transfer request in as many windows in order to force through the switch.
Meanwhile, Guardiola is also believed to be preparing an offer for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
The Brazilian is a similar type of player to compatriot Fernandinho and could be used in rotation with the veteran anchorman.
Fred has also been linked with Manchester United but is understood to be eager on a move to the Etihad.
Those two transfers could take City’s spending close to the £100m mark alone.

And fans are sure to be hoping that Guardiola fancies another left-back after seeing Benjamin Mendy miss most of the season through injury.
Fabian Delph, Danilo, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko have filled in there as makeshifts, but there’s every chance City could be tempted to get the chequebook out again if a specialist such as Juventus' Alex Sandro becomes available,.
