Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal set to miss Real Madrid clash in Champions League as he will have to undergo knee operation
Chilean was returning from injury but broke down in training and Jupp Heynckes confirmed he will need minor surgery
ARTURO VIDAL is set to miss Bayern Munich's Champions League clash with Real Madrid next week as he has to undergo a knee operation.
The Chilean was returning from injury, but broke down in training yesterday.
And Bayern fans' worst fears were realised as boss Jupp Heynckes confirmed he needs minor surgery.
Speaking ahead of the German Cup semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen, he explained: "Arturo had a trip without any contact from anyone else.
"He has a loose body in the knee joint. He needs a small procedure and will be out for the time being.
"He's a fighter. I'm confident for his recovery."
The news is a devastating blow for Bayern, who are still fighting on three fronts this season.
