WILFRIED ZAHA is wanted at Manchester City to boost Champions League hopes next season.

Pep Guardiola is targeting a forward to play wide or through the middle to get further in Europe – and has £50million Zaha in his sights.

The Crystal Palace forward has impressed Pep playing across the forward line to give his side hope of Premier League survival.

City are set to compete with Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea for the Ivory Coast international.

It is understood there are no concerns over a return to Manchester following an unhappy spell at United when he was loaned to Cardiff and back to Palace.

The 25-year-old has bounced back from his two seasons at Old Trafford and is now expected to attract offers from big clubs who are convinced he can step up again.

Pep moved for Riyad Mahrez in the last window but the Leicester winger but were priced out of a deal.

Zaha has now emerged as a potential signing who can also play striker as well as a wide man... and he will also count as a “homegrown” player after coming through Palace's academy.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred is a target for a defensive-midfielder, although United are also looking at the Brazilian.
