Manchester United eyeing up summer swoop for Leicester’s £35m-rated defender Harry Maguire
Maguire could be set to dump Chris Smalling out of both the United and England team with Old Trafford move on the cards
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly eyeing up a summer swoop for Leicester's £35million-rated centre-back Harry Maguire.
Maguire could be set to dump Chris Smalling out of both the United and England back-four with an Old Trafford move on the cards, according to the Mirror.
Jose Mourinho has long been keen to bolster his defensive ranks, with Swansea's Alfie Mawson also on the scouting report.
United have used a host of options in the heart of defence, but the likes of Smalling, Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof have failed to inspire confidence.
Even Eric Bailly has failed to reach his top form, while Marcos Rojo has been in-and-out of the team through injury.
Mourinho appeared to be on the prowl for new England star Mawson - after sending scouts to watch Swansea's 1-1 draw with West Brom earlier this month.
Now it would seem the Special One is eyeing up a move for another new Three Lions star, in Leicester's Maguire.
The former Hull centre-back, 25, - also reportedly on the radar of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola - only joined the Foxes last summer on a five-year deal.

Since then, the defender has gone from strength-to-strength, playing 40 times for the Premier League side this season, in all competitions.
On top of that, Maguire has represented his country four times this season - in games against Lithuania, Germany, Brazil and Holland.
