David Moyes reveals Andy Carroll could return for West Ham’s crunch clash against Stoke City

ANDY CARROLL could return to the West Ham squad for their home clash with Stoke on Monday night.

The striker has not played since suffering a hairline ankle fracture in January.

But Hammers boss David Moyes revealed today that the frontman may be back ready for action against the Potters.

He said: “He's back in training.

“We got him back at the start of the week so we will keep monitoring him.

“We'll see how he is. Obviously he hasn't played for 11 weeks so I have got that on my mind as well.

“But if we get Andy back it will be a big plus for us.

“We know how good he can be and what he can bring to us so the sooner we get him back, the better.”

West Ham, with 34 points, are six points clear of the drop zone and seven points in front of second-bottom Stoke.

But Moyes knows his men still have a lot to do in order to secure survival.

He said: “I think to get to 40 points is the biggest thing because normally that keeps you up.

“But I am keeping my targets high.

“My ideal situation is to go unbeaten between now and the end of the season.

“I don't see any reason why we can't do that and aim for that.

“If we do, that would get us enough to stay us up.”
