AARON RAMSEY showed off his battle scars on Instagram after Arsenal's Moscow scrap.

The Gunners midfielder suffered an awful cut that left him needing SIX staples to hold his leg together.

Ramsey posted the gruesome image on Instagram which showed a huge gash on his skin.

But the Welshman was able to play through the pain barrier after treatment to the injury he sustained in the first half.

Ramsey was met by a stretcher and medics in the first half of the clash with CSKA Moscow on Thursday.

After some running repairs, the 27-year-old was patched up and thrown back into the action in the Europa League quarter-final second leg.

Ramsey played on and scored Arsenal's second goal late on in their 2-2 draw with the Russians to advance to the last four.

Arsenal were given a scare when CSKA went 2-0 up, needing just one more goal to pull off an unlikely comeback after a 4-1 first-leg loss at the Emirates.
