AYMERIC LAPORTE has insisted that Manchester City need to take the "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" against Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola's men can secure the Premier League title with a win against their fierce rivals at the Etihad on Saturday.
Despite Guardiola prioritising Wednesday's Champions League match against Liverpool, the 23-year-old has highlighted Saturday's dream scenario for City fans.
He told City TV: "We have a chance [to win the league by beating United].
"It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we must try to get the win on Saturday.
"Obviously, we must win the next game and after that we can relax but, obviously, that is a very important game on Saturday."
The Blues will still have six top flight games to play after facing Jose Mourinho's side.
Laporte has been finding his feet for Guardiola's side since completing his £57m move from Athletic Bilbao in January.

He was deployed in the left-back position during City's 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
Speaking of his new role, he said: "I felt really well.
"Obviously, it's a different position but we worked hard over the week in training sessions.
"I felt fine, physically, very well and the team achieved the goal."
Saturday's game against the Red Devils comes between two huge Champions League clashes against Liverpool.
