Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger faces competition from Wolves for AC Milan striker Andre Silva

WOLVES are plotting an audacious bid to steal AC Milan striker Andre Silva from under the nose of Arsenal.
The Gunners have been chasing Portuguese star Silva, 22, ever since he swapped Porto for Milan in a £34million deal last summer.
However, despite the San Siro striker's poor form this season, that hasn't stopped a bidding war between Arsene Wenger and Wolves boss Nuno, according to .
Incredibly, Silva only scored his first Serie A goal of the season last weekend in the 1-0 win over Genoa.
Prior to that, the 18-cap, 11-goal Portugal international had played 16 league games without finding the net.
However, it would appear Silva's form in other competitions - including the Europa League - has kept Wenger intrigued.
While Silva drew a blank in both legs against Arsenal - as the Gunners ran out 5-1 winners on aggregate - he had scored six times in eight games before that.
Those six goals included a hat-trick against Austria Vienna and a further two in the return game in the group stage.

Despite that, Silva has only scored once since that game - played on November 23 - in the win over Genoa last weekend.
While Arsenal were considered front-runners to land Silva, Championship leaders Wolves are hopeful of landing the 22-year-old as they prepare to have another crack at life in the Premier League.
