Gianluigi Buffon moved to tears during David Astori minute’s silence before Juventus take on Udinese
Former Fiorentina captain tragically passed away last weekend and Serie A returns after brief stop in his honour
GIANLUIGI BUFFON was moved to tears during an emotional minute's silence in honour of Davide Astori before Juventus' clash with Udinese.
The former Fiorentina captain, who sadly passed away last weekend, was honoured across all stadiums in Serie A as football resumed this week.
Buffon, who played with Astori for Italy, was clearly deeply affected by the tragic events.
Earlier in the day, Fiorentina had beaten Benevento 1-0 with a goal from their former skipper's replacement Vitor Hugo in an emotionally-charged occasion.
Tributes were held before the match, and play was stopped on 13 minutes to allow players and fans to pay their respects.
Another of Astori's former clubs in Cagliari, wore the words "Ciao Davide" on their sleeves against Lazio.
