Neymar to have operation on Saturday — and Brazil national team doctor confirms PSG star is facing three months out

NEYMAR will face around three months on the sidelines after his operation which will take place this Saturday, Brazil's national team doctor has confirmed.

After suffering a fractured metatarsal during the 3-0 victory over Marseille, the world's most expensive player opted to undergo an operation.

The decision meant he would certainly be out for the Champions League last-16 return against Real Madrid, but it appears he will now miss the majority of the remainder of the campaign.

He was pictured on a wheelchair as he prepared to board a flight to Rio de Janeiro — and Brazil doctor Rodrigo Lasmar confirmed: "He will be out for around two-and-a-half and three months.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery hinted Samba star, 26, still had a ten per cent chance of being fit enough to face Los Blancos at the Parc des Princes.

The injury appears to have sparked a war between club and country, despite both playing it down.
