report Woodward has spoken with Mourinho in a bid to resolve the issue and how the atmosphere can be improved in the future.

It has also been reported the Portuguese coach has requested a detailed history of the issue and has tasked members of his coaching staff to canvass supporters to help get to grips with the problem.

Back in January last year Mourinho called on the fans to “do better” after a win over Hull.

He said: “I think in the first half the players have to do better, I have to do better, the fans, they also have to do better.
