CITY NEED MOUR CLASS

Jose Mourinho in new dig at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as the Manchester United chief says his side lose with ‘dignity and fair play’

Old Trafford manager hits out after Guardiola and Sergio Aguero were involved in ugly clashes after City's 1-0 FA Cup loss at Wigan

JOSE MOURINHO has had ANOTHER dig at rival Pep Guardiola – claiming Manchester United lose with “dignity and fair play”.

Manchester City blew their quadruple hopes after crashing out of the FA Cup against Wigan last weekend.

Manchester City chief Pep Guardiola and Wigan boss Paul Cook had an exchange that later turned into a tunnel bust-up

Boss Guardiola and counterpart Paul Cook were dragged away from each-other after a bust-up spilled into the tunnel – while Sergio Aguero was involved in a fight with a fan who invaded the pitch at full-time.

And Man Utd manager Mourinho took a swipe at City’s antics, comparing their behaviour to his own side’s after they were beaten by Bristol City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

He said: “Of course, we would like to be better in the Premier League, but we are where we are.

“In the Champions League we are alive. In the FA Cup we are alive.

Etihad boss Pep Guardiola was furious after City saw their Quadruple bid ended

“In the Carabao Cup, after winning last season, we lost in the quarter-final.

“But we lost like Manchester United likes to lose – with dignity, with fair play, with participation in the happiness of a giant killer.

PAUL OVER? Paul Pogba has ‘lost trust’ of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, claims Paul Scholes

“So even in the Capital (Carabao) Cup, we lost against a Championship team, I would say that as a Manchester United manager that way of behaving as a big team, even in defeat we were a big team.”

Aguero, though, is free to face Arsenal in Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final after escaping an FA rap punishment over his clash at Wigan.
