Alexandre Lacazette posts injury update following knee surgery after Arsene Wenger confirms he will be out for ‘four or five weeks’
ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE has posted an update on his rehab after Arsene Wenger confirmed he will be out for four or five weeks after minor surgery on his knee.
The Frenchman was injured during Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the North London derby 10 days ago, when he missed a couple of huge opportunities to get the Gunners back into the game.
Now, after keyhole surgery on his left knee, the striker, 26, has posted an update on social media with his feet on a leg press matchine in the gym, showing that he has already begun his rehab on the joint.
On current estimates, he should be fit around the time Arsenal face West Ham and Manchester United in the Premier League in mid-to-late March.
Wenger told BeIN Sports: "He got a surprising swell of the knee after the game against Tottenham and he needed surgery very quick.
"He'll be out for the next four to five weeks. It's a massive blow for us and we have to find a solution because nobody could predict that."
The Gunners went to Sweden where they defeated Ostersunds 3-0 in the Europa League last-32 and take a healthy aggregate lead back to the Emirates Stadium on Thursday for the second leg.
Lacazette has scored nine goals in 26 games since joining Arsenal last summer, but that has not been enough for some fans.

Several 'supporters' of the North London club have decided to set their Arsenal shirts on fire with Lacazette's name on the back.
And with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ineligible for the Gunners' Europa League games, Lacazette's fitness could prove the difference between them winning the competition or being dumped out.
