Marco Materazzi trolls under-fire Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane with Instagram post of World Cup final shame
AS if things were not bad enough for Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
The European champions are 19 points behind leaders Barcelona, dumped out of the Copa del Rey by minnows Leganes with the French legend facing the sack.
And what Zidane, 45, doesn’t need right now is his old nemesis Marco Materazzi making fun of him on social media with a piece of artwork honouring his World Cup final red card shame in 2006.
Materazzi, 44, and Zidane exchanged words as they ran out of the box during extra time, in Berlin.
The Italian defender tugged at the French star’s shirt, exchanged words before the Real Madrid playmaker took leave of his senses and head-butted Materazzi in the chest.
That infamous low point in Zidane’s career is the inspiration for a work of art on display in the Italian’s house and he couldn’t wait to post it on Instagram.
The Los Blancos boss should have more pressing matters to deal in the next few months.
