Bennett, 27, received vile abuse aimed at his family online following the challenge, which left the German injured.

And Warnock admitted he was disappointed in his defender - especially for his late second booking.

He said: "I've not spoken to him if I'm honest, I'm disappointed in him really.

"To get a yellow card was unprofessional I thought. It was a ridiculous booking so what else can you expect?

"He'll be training Saturday and Sunday if you want to come and watch him, 11 o'clock until 1.30, anybody's welcome!"

Bennett's absence could open the door for new signing Armand Traore after he arrived on a deadline day free.

Warnock explained: “I know Armand from QPR and always kept in touch with him, and until the end of the season we can’t lose on that deal.

"We're having confirmation this morning about Traore, [Jamie] Ward is through and Traore is training with us today.

"I was there, so I know we did it before 11pm because I was there, but it's good to have him until the end of the season.

"I like Armand. When he's got something to prove, he's a good player."
