Arsenal slash calendar price by half after publishing with Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud featured

Gunners fans will be hard pushed to get their money's worth out of the stationary now a quarter of the stars have gone

ARSENAL have halved the price of their disastrous 2018 club calendar after sticking Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud on the front and Theo Walcott as Mr August.

The Gunners had a big January clear-out, with Chile star Sanchez leaving for free to join Manchester United on a record-breaking weekly wage.

Two of Arsenal's calendar front-three have left the club with Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud joining rivals

French forward Giroud was flogged – against Arsene Wenger’s wishes – to London rivals Chelsea, to make more room for incoming Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And England winger Walcott was finally moved on to Everton where he made a thrilling start with a brace against Leicester on deadline day.

That means three of the dozen players included on the £10 gift are now playing for direct rivals, with Walcott returning to the Emirates on Saturday to try and sink his former side.

The club-shop stationary has been slashed down to £5 to try and get them off the north London shelves.

Sanchez was the main man for January, getting the year off to a terrible start by fleeing for free and  earning up to £600,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

Giroud is the final player to pop up for December 2018 so any buyers will end the year on another disappointment.

The arrival of Aubameyang has provided some tonic for Arsenal fans who have grown sick of watching their top stars routinely leave for rivals.

But the Gabon man has been struck down with illness before he can even kick a ball for the Gunners.

Wenger said: I have to assess how he is today and how he feels.

"He had a fever and so he couldn't practise a lot.

"He practised yesterday but was still not feeling well so I have to assess with the medical department to see how fit and well he will be."
