ANTONIO CONTE is keen to return to the Italy job, according to the Italian Football Federation.
Newly-appointed commissioner Roberto Fabbricini is searching for Gian Piero Ventura’s replacement.
With his country still reeling from missing out on the World Cup, 48-year-old Conte would be a popular appointment after a successful first spell in charge.
But he faces competition from former Chelsea bosses Carlo Ancelotti and Claudio Ranieri, as well as Roberto Mancini.
Ventura said: "The names are the ones you know.
"Mancini was in Rome but we didn't contact him, Conte seems eager to wear blue again.
