Arsenal keeper Petr Cech’s mistake gifted Swansea the win… but fans are gunning for Granit Xhaka

Swiss midfielder has been blasted for his lack of defensive ability by the Gunners faithful after yet another embarrassing away defeat

ARSENAL slumped to yet another embarrassing defeat at the hands of relegation battlers Swansea last night.

Nacho Monreal put the Gunners ahead before Sam Clucas equalised just one minute later.

Then a terrible attempt at a clearance by Petr Cech allowed Jordan Ayew to give the Swans the lead before Clucas added his second to seal a miserable night for the visitors.

Although Cech faced the wrath of the angry Gunners faithful, there was one other player that was on the receiving end of some abuse for his performance.

Granit Xhaka was targeted with many fans going after him for his lack of defensive ability.

Twitter user @AFCAMDEN said: "Convinced Xhaka has 0 brain cells. Will never have the concentration levels to be elite."

@7amkickoff tweeted: "I can honestly say that I haven't seen a midfielder as terrible at defence as Granit Xhaka in 20 years of watching Arsenal FC."

Boss Arsene Wenger blamed his defence after the game as the club slipped to eight points behind the Champions League places.

Wenger said: "I felt defensively we were very poor and made big mistakes. It's better not to talk about the second or third goals.

"Swansea were sharp, disciplined and hungry. Unfortunately I believe we were not good enough, I believe we were not disciplined enough."
