Kylian Mbappe turned down Real Madrid to sign for PSG, reveals Monaco chief

Spanish giants offered the same money as PSG but Mbappe was determined to move to the French capital

REAL MADRID are claimed to have offered the same money as Paris Saint-Germain did for Kylian Mbappe.

The French striker, 19, joined on loan from Monaco in August ahead of PSG paying £162million to make it a permanent deal next summer.

Los Blancos had been trailing the teen sensation for years - but he snubbed a move to move back to the city of his birth.

Mbappe had previously gone on trial with Real as well as Valencia and Chelsea as a kid.

But, after a stunning breakthrough season in which he netted 26 goals and helped Monaco to the title, Mbappe rejected Real and a host of Premier League clubs to sign for PSG.

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev says that Mbappe could have gone to Real for the same price.

He said: "Yes, Real Madrid offered the same amount as the PSG.
