Southampton launch loan swoop for Tottenham defender Kyle Walker-Peters
Saints are eyeing cover for Cedric Soares and the England Under-20 World Cup winner is behind Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier in Spurs pecking order
SOUTHAMPTON are ready to swoop for Kyle Walker-Peters before the deadline.
Mauricio Pellegrino wants cover for Cedric Soares and has the Tottenham full-back in his sights on a loan deal.
Spurs could consider allowing the England Under-21 right-back a short-term move as Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier are ahead of the youngster in the pecking order.
The 20-year-old made a dream debut on the opening weekend of the season when he was man-of-the-match in the victory over Newcastle.
Walker-Peters also came off the bench against Huddersfield in the Prem – but his other matches have been in cups or Europe.
His reward for breaking into the first team squad this season was a new deal at Spurs until 2020.
