Kevin De Bruyne fears Manchester City’s quadruple chase will leave him burnt out for the World Cup this summer

England could be getting a huge boost this summer as they have been drawn to play Belgium in the tournament this summer

KEVIN DE BRUYNE handed England a huge World Cup boost by admitting he might be too knackered to play in Russia.

Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions are drawn in the same Group G as De Bruyne’s Belgium.

But Manchester City’s gruelling quest for a historic Quadruple is threatening to leave KDB burnt out by the summer.

And the 26-year-old claims he is ready to tell Belgium boss Roberto Martinez to axe him.

De Bruyne, who has already made 37 appearances for club and country this season, said: “Of course there’s some tiredness, but we go on.

“If I feel less in June, before the World Cup, I’ll be honest with the manager. I’ll tell him someone has to take my place.”

City had been looking at West Brom’s Jonny Evans but decided on Laporte due to his age and technique.

Pep Guardiola is also believed to be closing in on an agreement for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, although the Brazilian may not join City until the summer.
